Fractional radiofrequency machine

Fractional radiofrequency (RF) is an ideal technology for treatment of acne scarring, skin rejuvenation and regeneration.

Radiofrequency is delivered to the deeper levels of the skin, generating heat and collagen regeneration. This process can soften fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars and improve pore size with minimum down time.

RF is one of the safest treatments available for darker skin types. There is a very low risk of side effects and skin darkening, which makes this a safe treatment for Asian and darker skin types – a key difference when compared to some traditional treatments (IPL & Laser).

Fractional radiofrequency can be combined with a number of other anti ageing and acne scarring treatments in the hands of an experienced dermatologist.

How long does a RF treatment take?

A numbing cream is applied 1 hour prior to your treatment. Once this has taken effect the treatment takes approximately 20 minutes.

How long is the recovery after a fractional RF treatment?

Straight after the treatment you will have some temporary redness in the skin. This lasts 3-4 hours and then fades. Our staff can assis with post treatment makeup if needed.

Occasionally you may have some light peeling/dryness or slight redness lasting for a few days after the treatment. This can be covered with makeup if needed.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments depends on the results you wish to achieve. The best results are seen after 4-5 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart. We have packages available for people wishing to complete 5 treatments.

What precautions do I need to take before and after treatments?

It is important to inform your dermatologist if you have had a recent outbreak of cold sores as your treatment would need to be rescheduled.

After your treatment, you should avoid cleansing until the next day and use gentle products, and you should wear sunscreen daily while undergoing a series of treatments.  Our nurses will advise you in detail of how to best care for your skin.
